Kings Mountain Little Theatre believes the stage belongs to everyone in our community. Whether you're a seasoned performer, a first-time auditionee, or just curious about theater, we welcome you to audition for our upcoming productions. All roles are open unless otherwise noted, and we love seeing new faces!

We also received several messages from folks who were not able to join us in person and inquired about submitting virtually. We are excited to say virtual submissions are NOW OPEN.

Come adventure with Alice, her sister and a whole menagerie of characters imagined from her daily life as she seeks to find the answer to this question. Classic theatre at it's BEST! HOW TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS:
*Select a monologue either from the links or find your own, that will allow you to show a variety of emotions, facial expressions, characterization or comedic timing. MONOLOGUE MUST BE WELL MEMORIZED.
*Select 16 bars from a song you like, or from the links below, that demonstrates your vocal range. (Accompaniment provided and blue tooth speaker available)
*Practice your voice projection & articulation for both of these.
*Print & fill out the audition sheet & write your bio as you would want it to appear in the program.
****Check the performance dates to be certain you DO NOT have conflicts for those weekends****
PREPARATION FOR AUDITIONS:
*Choose & MEMORIZE a monologue 90-120 seconds long
*Choose & memorize 16 bars/90 seconds of a song from a musical in the STYLE of a character you would like to play in Alice in Wonderland or one that highlights your strengths. You may use an accompaniment track or bring sheet music, no acapella.
*Be ready to do a "cold" read along with others auditioning, from sections of the script provided by the director on audition day
*Be ready to sing a portion of a song from the musical, taught to you by the music director on audition day
*Be ready to participate in simple dance moves taught to you by the choreographer on audition day

DAY OF AUDITION:
*Bring your completed audition form OR.. Arrive early to fill out a form completely
*bring sheet music for your vocal piece if you desire accompanist
*Check the rehearsal calendar to be certain that you will be available for most rehearsals

How to Prepare for Auditions We want you to feel comfortable and shine! Here's what to expect and how to get ready:
Arrive a few minutes early to fill out our audition form (bring a pen).
Prepare a monologue (1–2 minutes): Choose one that shows your range—dramatic, comedic, or contrasting styles. You can use pieces from our suggested links (when posted), or select your own material.
For musicals: Bring sheet music if you're preparing a song (an accompanist is usually available).
Cold readings: Many auditions include reading sides from the script on the spot—no need to memorize.
What to bring: A headshot/resumé if you have one (not required), comfortable clothing, and water.
Age & eligibility: Most productions are open to teens and adults (18+ unless show notes otherwise). Youth opportunities like summer drama camp are separate.
Tips for Success
Be yourself—we cast based on talent, fit for the role, and chemistry with the ensemble.
Review the rehearsal calendar (posted when available) to ensure you can commit.
